Arena Manawatu B&M Centre

Gate 4 Pascal Street, Palmerston North

Cost

A Grade - $475 includes any NZU Levy

B Grade - $475 includes any NZU Levy

  • Rule #1 - All players are required to observe the Spirit of the Game
If in doubt ... refer to rule #1

    • Team captains flip disc/s at the start of the game to determine who pulls / receives or which end to start from.  A further flip can occur to decide team strips if required.

    • A team must have at least 3 players on the court at the commencement of the schedule or adjusted time of the game.  A team will lose 1 point for every full minute they are late.  If 3 players are not assembled on the line after 10 minutes they will default the game.

    1. A & B Grade - Numbers on court max 4 per team 2:2 female and male split.

    2. Rules - The rules are as per the WFDF in terms of fouls, vertical space, rights to positions, strips with some alterations as follows to accommodate the indoor game.

      • Stall - The stall count is to 7, and stall range is 2m.

      • Picks - There are no pick calls given the practicality of limited space on the court.  Picks should however be avoided at all times.   Please observe the Spirit of the Game.

      • Pulls - Spirited and fair pulls are expected.  They for example should avoid: disruption to adjacent games, excessive time in being retrieved, the risk of injury to players and / or damage to the disc.

      • Brick - A pull that goes out on the full and is not readily able to be caught in bounds by any player can be brought into the field of play from either where it went out, or the middle of the court if a brick is signalled .

      • Out of Bounds - In general play, if the disc goes out of bounds, the disc is played from where it crossed the perimeter of the court.  If resuming play would place the offensive team in their scoring endzone, the disc is put back in at the nearest point of the field of play.

      • Callahan's - Callahan points apply.  An intercepted pass where the receiver lands in the end zone is a point.

      • Dropped Pull - A dropped pull results in a turnover.

    3. Time Outs - There are 2 one-minute time outs per team per game. All time outs cease to allow the last 10 minutes of the game to be played.  If a time out is called with less than 11 minutes left the length of the time out is reduced to allow hte last 10 minutes to be played.

    4. Game End - Games finish at the end of the buzzer (hard cap). If the disc is in the air at full time (released before the end of the buzzer), the disc remains in play until the pass is completed (caught, turned over etc).

    5. Playoff Ties - In playoff games, if the score is a draw at full time, play stops with the game decided by a new (golden) point.  When the new point starts the team that was in possession of the disc when the game finished receives the pull.

    6. Defaulting - If a team can field a minimum of 2 male and 2 female players, you are expected to play all scheduled games, except under extenuating circumstances.

    7. Points System - Ult Central will be used for scoring games.  All teams are expected to submit game score and spirit score.

If you have any queries or clarification, check with Tournament Director (TD). The TD reserves the right to:

    1. Alter the rules prior to the commencement of the first game of the tournament

    2. Make the final decision regarding rule interpretation

    3. Take disciplinary action for any player who is considered to have seriously breached the ultimate rule / spirit of the game.

    4. Alter rosters in the spirit of the game.

  • In the event of teams having the same tournament points after pool play, the following rules will apply.

The higher ranked team will be decided as follows:

    • Head-to-head record among tied teams.

    • Head-to-head point differential among tied teams.

    • Record against all teams in pool/round robin group.

    • Point differential among all games in pool/round robin group.

    • Point differential across all games.

    • If the above does not solve the issue, the following criteria will apply (this may mean some manual adjustments to the draw by admin).

    1. Goals scored per game, counting only games between the teams that are tied.

    2. Goals scored per game, counting games against all common opponent

The extra criteria (1, 2) will restart after each tie break is solved.

If teams are still tied at this point, each team will nominate one player to throw one disc from behind the goal line to a mark at the opposite end scoring zone, if both are touching or equal then re-throw. Throwing order is determined randomly by disc toss. Teams are ranked in order by the distance from the resting place of each disc to the brick point, from closest to furthest.
